Fuel System

If you car feel sluggish or suffers from lazy acceleration, it may be time to have the fuel system checked and cleaned.  All cars require the fuel system to be cleaned periodically.  Here are a few steps we can take to improve your car's performance.

  • Fuel Injector Cleaning

Cleaning your fuel injectors will improve your gas mileage, vehicle acceleration, and will also stop "rough idling" and "hard starting".

  • Throttle Body Cleaning

Throttle body cleaning also helps to improve your gas mileage and reduce your vehicle's emmissions.  When you step on the gas pedal the throttle opens up to allow air to enter and mix with fuel.  Black soot can build up after some time and this build up can cause your car to idle erratically, sputter and even shut down.

Cleaning your vehicle's throttle body is a great way to prevent this from happening while also improving your gas mileage and protecting the environment.

  • Spark Plug Replacement

Most manufacturers are now using long life spark plugs that will last up to 100,000 Kms.  So you should only need to change your spark plugs when you hit the mileage as recommended by your owner's manual.

However if you do notice problems with your vehicle's idle, acceleration, or it's not getting the same gas mileage as it used to, then your plugs may need replacing.

If you're having problems with your vehicle and you're not sure where to begin, give us a call or send us an email.  We will be happy to guide you along and solve your problem.
